Yu Suzuki spent a record-breaking sum for the era, estimated at somewhere between 47 and 70 million dollars, simulating everyday life in 1986 Yokosuka: dynamic weather, shops with real operating hours, toy capsule machines, and arcades with a playable Space Harrier. He also coined the term QTE, quick time event, now universal vocabulary in the medium. Ryo Hazuki is after revenge; players found a world that breathed.

What the staff says
