Konami wanted to capitalize on the success of Metal Gear Solid and commissioned this parallel 2D story from its studio KCEJ. In the West it was simply called Metal Gear Solid, confusing half the stores that stocked it. It's surgical-precision stealth packed into just eight megabits, with radar, eccentric bosses, and 180 VR missions. Kojima had a supervisory role, and many veterans consider it the best 2D Metal Gear ever released.
