Based on the 1999 film of the same name, this first-person shooter came from British studio Eurocom with Electronic Arts publishing, at a time when Nintendo 64 had already set an extremely high bar with GoldenEye 007 and Perfect Dark. It recreates scenes from Bond's plot with infiltration missions, gadgets, and split-screen multiplayer, the formula that defined the genre on the console.
Today it's remembered as one more in the wave of licensed shooters that tried to repeat the Rare formula without quite reaching that magic, but it's still a required stop for anyone who wants to understand how much GoldenEye marked the rest of the industry in those years.
