Bakumatsu Renka Shinsengumi DS brings to the handheld an entry in the otome saga (romance games aimed at a female audience) centered on the Shinsengumi, the samurai militia that protected Kyoto during the final years of the Tokugawa shogunate. The game combines visual novel storytelling with a relationship simulation among fictionalized members of the group.
