Chronicles of Mystery - The Secret Tree of Life follows an archaeologist protagonist in a mystery plot with classic-adventure overtones: fixed backgrounds, objects to combine, environmental puzzles, and a story that mixes mythology with contemporary intrigue, in the tradition of European point-and-click.
It's part of a series of graphic adventures that found a natural port in DS thanks to the stylus, ideal for pointing at and examining objects with the same logic as the original PC mouse click.
