7 Blades offers a third-person action dungeon crawler where the player commands a group of seven characters with distinct abilities, sending them out in turns to explore dungeons and fight monsters to stop a plague corrupting an island. Its short-mission structure and the simultaneous handling of a varied cast set it apart from other hack-and-slash titles of its generation.
It's a niche title rarely mentioned outside the most devoted circles of the PS2 catalog, but it keeps the appeal of Genki's productions from those years: purposeful dungeons, direct combat, and a cooperative twist in managing the party.
