Cattle Call and Sony Computer Entertainment released it in Japan on November 3, 2004, reusing settings, characters, and music from Twilight of the Spirits, whose story continues five years later. The protagonist is Edda, a young exorcist from the island of Cragh who, together with his deimos friend Hemo, follows the trail of the malademons and the Chalice, a creature conceived as an energy source that ends up becoming the worst of those monsters.
It's the only Arc the Lad entry to abandon turns: here you fight in real time, with direct attacks and dodges, while roaming cities taking guild jobs — story missions and optional ones for items and experience. It even had an eight-player online mode, four-versus-four or four-player co-op, unprecedented for the series; its servers closed in June 2006.
