Developed by Digital Eclipse, specialists in classic-game preservation, it gathers Activision's '80s catalog -Pitfall!, River Raid, Kaboom! and company- with options to adjust difficulty and view the original box art, plus a brief documentary about the pioneers who founded the industry's first independent studio.
It's a time capsule of video game archaeology, useful for understanding where much of the medium's visual vocabulary comes from, more than a product aimed at the player who in 2002 was looking for something new.
This system doesn't run in the browser yet (Dreamcast, GameCube, PS2 and Xbox are on the way as web emulation matures). The dossier, media and community are already all yours.
