Set during the turbulent final days of the Tokugawa shogunate, the same period that would later popularize the Hakuoki series, this romance game places its protagonist among the Shinsengumi swordsmen, blending romance and political intrigue in a visual novel format made for the Japanese female audience.
It's representative of a very specific subgenre of PS2's Japanese catalog, historical romance novels, which rarely crossed borders given how niche their audience was and how heavily they depended on language.
