Battle Gear 2 brings to PS2 Taito's arcade game centered on illegal urban races with customizable Japanese cars, a direct heir to the tuning craze that series like Wangan Midnight also exploited.
Today it's appreciated by fans of Japanese tuning and PS2-era arcade ports, though it was overshadowed by better-known franchises in the same genre.
