Burnout Dominator picks up the reckless-speed and spectacular-destruction formula that made the Burnout saga a reference of arcade racing, with the nitro boost system charged by driving at the limit as its central axis and the characteristic Crash Junctions as its set piece. It arrived as a transitional installment, developed while the studio was preparing the leap to Burnout Paradise's open world.
Without Paradise's structural ambition, Dominator remains faithful to the classic formula of closed circuits and pure speed, and it remains a solid option for those who prefer that stage of the saga over the open world that came afterward.
