Clannad is the PS2 adaptation of Key's original visual novel (2004), the story of Tomoya Okazaki and his encounter with Nagisa Furukawa and other classmates, each with their own emotional arc touching on themes of family, loss, and growth. The original work is one of the most influential visual novels of the 2000s and gave rise to a popular Kyoto Animation anime adaptation.
For those who don't play in Japanese, access is limited, but its importance within the history of the visual novel genre is undeniable: Clannad helped consolidate an emotional narrative style still cited as a mandatory reference.
