Cocoto Kart Racer took the formula Mario Kart popularized and adapted it to the French character Cocoto, a mascot made for children's audiences who had already starred in other games from the same publisher. The result is a straightforward kart racer, with items, shortcuts, and themed tracks made for short family sessions.
It was part of a wave of mid-budget European kart racers seeking to fill the space Mario Kart left open outside Nintendo platforms, with mixed results but always with that party multiplayer ambition.
