Crash Nitro Kart, developed by Vicarious Visions, revisits the kart formula of Crash Team Racing with Crash Bandicoot and his cast racing this time against Velo, an alien ruler, and his quartet of drivers, on science-fiction circuits added to the saga's usual settings. It was the franchise's first major kart spin-off without Naughty Dog's direct involvement, already devoted to other projects after the brand's sale to Universal.
Though it never reached the prestige of the original Crash Team Racing, it holds up as a solid, colorful kart racer with good track design; a valid alternative for anyone looking for something like Mario Kart in PS2's catalog.
This system doesn't run in the browser yet (Dreamcast, GameCube, PS2 and Xbox are on the way as web emulation matures). The dossier, media and community are already all yours.
