2002 FIFA World Cup was EA Sports' official title for the South Korea and Japan World Cup, developed by EA Canada and released that same year on Xbox as well. It included all 32 qualified national teams with their real rosters, the stadiums of the Asian tournament, and the group-stage-plus-knockout format of the competition. It was part of the EA Sports FIFA line, already established as the genre's benchmark after several annual entries, and it took advantage of Microsoft's console launch to add graphical improvements over the PlayStation 2 versions. For a good number of players at the time, it was the way to live the World Cup from the couch before the series' next annual edition.
This system doesn't run in the browser yet (Dreamcast, GameCube, PS2 and Xbox are on the way as web emulation matures). The dossier, media and community are already all yours.
