Fable (2004) already promised an RPG where every moral choice left a visible mark on the hero's body and reputation. Lionhead Studios, the studio founded by Peter Molyneux, turned it into one of Xbox's marquee names, though the overblown expectations generated before launch ended up weighing more heavily than fair on the final result.
The Lost Chapters, released in 2005, isn't just a shinier version: it adds new areas and quests and extends the story beyond the 2004 ending, with an unreleased stretch following Jack of Blades' resurrection. For a good chunk of the Xbox audience, it ended up being the standard way to experience Albion, rather than a simple add-on to the original game.
