Climax Racing developed Hot Wheels: Stunt Track Challenge and THQ published it in November 2004 for Xbox, PlayStation 2, Game Boy Advance, and PC. It offered impossible toy-track-style circuits, with loops, jumps, and thirty officially licensed cars from the brand.
Like almost the entire Hot Wheels game series of the era, it aimed at a young, family audience rather than simulation fans, with stunt minigames added alongside the races. It stood as one more entry in THQ's licensed catalog, with no ambition beyond entertaining kids in front of the TV.
