American Chopper arrived in 2004, developed by Creat Studios and published by Activision Value, inspired by the reality show of the same name about the Teutul family's custom bike shop that was dominating American television at the time. The game combined an editor for designing and customizing motorcycles with street-racing stretches, leaning more toward the creative side than a pure driving simulator. It was part of the wave of reality-TV-based video games that proliferated in the mid-2000s, with a modest reception from specialized critics. It launched simultaneously on PlayStation 2 and PC.
