Panzer Dragoon Orta was developed by Smilebit — where much of the Team Andromeda staff landed after Saturn's discontinuation — and published by Sega in 2002 as an Xbox exclusive. Set decades after Panzer Dragoon Saga, it follows Orta, a young woman rescued by a dragon, and returns to the on-rails shooting format of the series' first two games.
Xbox's graphical power allowed for more detailed environments and creatures than any previous entry. The fourth and, to this day, latest installment in the saga, it became a cult object for its art direction and stands as one of the console's most technically admired shooters.
