Cat Trax offers a maze-chase dynamic starring cats, in line with the many clones and variants the Pac-Man phenomenon spawned in the first half of the '80s. The player has to run a circuit collecting objects while dodging or confronting threats, with the simple rules that characterized this subgenre on the Atari 2600. It's one of the many titles that tried to capitalize on the dot-eater's popularity without an official license, changing the character design just enough to avoid legal trouble while keeping the formula that made the genre popular fully intact.
