Bakumatsu Renka: Shinsengumi is a Koei narrative adventure game set during the turbulent end of the Edo period, with the famous samurai police squad Shinsengumi as historical backdrop and a structure of choices and romance aimed at a female audience, in line with the publisher's other historical titles.
It remained Japan-exclusive, like much of this historical-visual-novel subgenre, but it's representative of an era when Koei explored the Bakumatsu from narrative angles as well as the strategic ones seen in Nobunaga's Ambition or Kessen.
This system doesn't run in the browser yet (Dreamcast, GameCube, PS2 and Xbox are on the way as web emulation matures). The dossier, media and community are already all yours.
