Crackshot follows the classic shooting-gallery formula: targets that appear and move across the screen, light-gun aim, and a difficulty progression meant to test the player's steadiness round after round. It's representative of a subgenre that existed almost since the very origins of coin-op electronic entertainment.
Its interest today is mainly historical: these shooting galleries were the link between the twentieth century's mechanical marksmanship fairs and the shooting video games that would later dominate arcades.
