Daraku Tenshi: The Fallen Angels was Psikyo's second attempt at the one-on-one fighting genre, after Battle K-Road, and arrived at a time when the company was much better known for its vertical shooters than for fighting games. Eight playable characters (plus two bosses accessible only through cheats) face off with a mechanic aiming for a more realistic tone than SNK or Capcom's, with only two characters able to throw projectiles.
It came out in Japan in 1998 and had very limited distribution in the United States, with no official port afterward, which kept it in the shadows for years. In 2019, a studio founded by a former Psikyo programmer announced a 'complete edition' of the game, a sign that it still retains a loyal fanbase despite its low profile.
