Dharma Doujou brings to the arcade the logic of daruma otoshi, that Japanese tabletop game in which stacked blocks are struck with a small mallet without the figure crowning the tower falling: here a monk (player 1) and a temple priestess (player 2) must clear colored blocks following that same idea, turned into an action puzzle. Metro Corporation developed and published it in April 1994. It's one of those pieces showing how 90s Japanese arcades turned local traditional games into video game mechanics, something that rarely exported successfully outside Japan, and which today stands as much a cultural curiosity as a playable one.
