Check Man places the player on a checkered board where they must solve each screen's challenge while navigating around enemies with their own movement patterns, within that maze-puzzle tradition that flourished after Pac-Man's success in the early eighties. It was a limited-release production, mainly in the Japanese market.
It's a minor but representative piece of how Taito explored maze-genre variants in those years, seeking its own identity within a formula that dominated arcades at the time.
