Block Block picks up the Breakout/Arkanoid mechanic -paddle, ball, and rows of blocks to destroy- and dresses it in the visual polish characteristic of early-90s Capcom, adding power-ups and levels with particular obstacles to set itself apart from the competition.
It's a solid, if not revolutionary, representative of one of the arcade's longest-running genres: the block-breaking formula that never stopped producing variants, each trying to add its own twist to an idea Taito had already perfected years earlier.
