Elevator Action II is the follow-up to Taito's 1983 classic, which keeps the original premise -a secret agent who must infiltrate a building, collect documents from red doors, and escape using elevators as both a movement tool and a trap against enemies- with updated graphics and new levels for the 90s. It's a welcome return to a formula that was quite original in its time within Taito's catalog, and one the sequel updates without betraying the direct spirit and somewhat obsessive attention to detail -those doors, those elevators- of the original.
