Cannon Fodder is the Atari Jaguar port of Sensible Software's classic strategy-action game, originally published in 1993 and adapted to Atari's console shortly after. The player commands a squad of soldiers viewed from above through missions combining direct shooting with tactical squad management, all wrapped in an anti-war satire tone uncommon for the era.
Its biting edge — the tombstone commemorating each fallen soldier, the contrast between the lighthearted aesthetic and the harshness of the subject — turned it into a game with a voice of its own within a catalog, the Jaguar's, more focused on pure action.
