Lexis combines the genre's constant piece-falling with word formation, in a formula originally developed by Shadowsoft — the same studio behind the Lynx versions of Joust and Robotron: 2084 — which Songbird Productions ended up publishing in 1999, already in the phase of rescuing unreleased material from the Atari catalog. It's played holding the console vertically, like Klax, and stands out for an English voiceover unusually clear for the Lynx's sound hardware. It's one of the pieces most sought after by the system's puzzle collectors, both for its solid gameplay and for the rarity of having spent years as unreleased material before finding a publisher.
