Tournament Cyberball arrived on the Lynx in 1991, developed by BlueSky Software and published by Atari Corporation, as a conversion of the Cyberball 2072 arcade that Atari Games had released in 1988: teams of robots play out a futuristic, violent version of American football, where knocking out the ball carrier is just as valid as advancing down the field. The subtitle 2072 refers to the fictional year in which the competition takes place. It's one of the most distinctive crossovers between sports and science fiction the Lynx catalog had, a direct heir to an arcade machine that at the time stood out for allowing up to four simultaneous players in the arcade.
