Worms, originally created by Team17, arrived on the Jaguar in 1998 in a port handled by Ocean Software -based on the PlayStation version- and published by Telegames, nearly four years after Atari had officially discontinued the Jaguar: teams of worms take turns blasting each other with an arsenal of absurd weapons -everything from bazookas to exploding sheep- across destructible landscapes, in a turn-based strategy format that had already conquered computers and other consoles. Its late arrival makes it one of the last commercial releases in the system's entire history. It's an unexpected, quality closing chapter for the Jaguar catalog, proof that even years after its commercial death, there were still publishers willing to bet on the console.
