Maya the Bee was born as a German novel in 1912 and became a TV phenomenon thanks to the German-Japanese animation co-production of the 1970s, which later had remakes and reboots. This Italian title took that base of characters — Maya, Willy, the hive — for a platformer-and-minigame collection built strictly for the young audience growing up with the show on TV.
It had little impact outside Italy and today is a minor piece among the huge number of European children's licenses that filled the DS catalog.
