Boku no Kioku to Negai ('My Memories and My Wish') revisits the universe of Brave Story, the popular fantasy novel by Miyuki Miyabe also adapted into film and other videogames: a boy crosses a portal into a parallel world, Vision, to try to avert a family tragedy through a quest for magic stones. It rests on a young fantasy premise with narrative weight of its own, something uncommon in DS's catalog of licenses; its role among the various Brave Story adaptations makes it one more chapter of a universe that had a much longer run in Japan than in the West.
