Burnout Revenge added a new mechanic to the series' DNA of cinematic crashes and extreme speed: the ability to ram traffic cars from behind to knock them off the track, turning every race into controlled chaos of destruction. Criterion Games kept refining a formula that was already a reference of the arcade genre.
The game finished consolidating Burnout as the pure-speed alternative to the more serious simulations, and its spectacular crash system -the famous Crashbreaker- became a trademark the saga would keep until its leap to open world with Paradise.
This system doesn't run in the browser yet (Dreamcast, GameCube, PS2 and Xbox are on the way as web emulation matures). The dossier, media and community are already all yours.
