Capcom Classics Collection brought together around twenty arcade titles from the 80s and early 90s -shooters, platformers, and beat 'em ups that defined much of Capcom's early identity- with the emulation fidelity the company had already been cultivating in its compilations. It was an accessible way to have in one place pieces that would otherwise only survive scattered. For anyone interested in Capcom's history before Resident Evil and Street Fighter II, it remains a good starting point: an honest snapshot of how Japanese arcades of that era sounded and looked.
