Conflict - Desert Storm II, developed by Pivotal Games, continues the saga's formula: a third-person tactical shooter where the player commands a squad of commandos during the 1991 Gulf War, switching between soldiers with different skills to complete military objectives. It was part of a wave of war squad shooters that flourished on PS2 before the genre concentrated almost entirely on World War II and, later, fictional contemporary conflicts.
It's fondly remembered within the console's tactical-shooter niche, with two-player co-op that added replayability. Today it interests those looking for a classic squad shooter, before the explosion of online first-person shooters.
