Deadly Skies III continues an arcade aerial combat saga centered on modern war missions, with a fleet of fighter jets and a more accessible approach than serious flight simulators. It sits in the tradition of aerial shooters that on PS2 lived in the shadow of Ace Combat, the genre's dominant benchmark on the console.
It's a decent title but without a strong identity of its own, overshadowed by its direct competition; today it mainly interests those looking to complete the sixth generation's aerial combat catalog.
