Disaster Report (known as Zettai Zetsumei Toshi in Japan) puts the player in the middle of a massive earthquake that destroys an artificial city built over the sea, forcing them to move between collapsed buildings, fires, and floods while managing basic resources like water and the protagonist's health, with a realistic survival approach rather than action.
Its Western release was marked by bad luck: the edition was delayed after the 2004 Niigata earthquake and then after the Indian Ocean tsunami, pushing back its release outside Japan for sensitivity reasons. Today it's remembered as an uncommon disaster-simulation experiment within PS2's catalog.
