Batman: Dark Tomorrow, developed by HotGen and published by Kemco in 2003, had been born with the ambition of offering a more open, freely explorable Gotham, moving away from the character's usual linear platformers. The story pits Batman against the Joker and other classic villains in an original plot.
The idea sounded promising, but the execution didn't follow through: an erratic camera and imprecise controls made it one of the worst-received Batman games of its time, remembered today more as a curiosity than as a good game.
