Aquaman: Battle for Atlantis arrived in July 2003, developed by Lucky Chicken Games and published by TDK Mediactive, timed to the premiere of an animated miniseries about the DC Comics character. The plot pitted the hero against Black Manta, his classic archenemy, in an adventure that combined underwater melee combat, vehicle stretches and timed bomb-defusal sequences. It also came out on GameCube that same year. Critics were extremely harsh on it for its repetitive gameplay and poor technical execution, to the point that it regularly shows up on lists of the worst games in the Xbox catalog.
