NCAA March Madness 2005 was, in 2004, the last entry in the series EA Canada developed for the original Xbox, keeping the bracket and single-elimination format that characterizes the March college tournament. The roster and matchups were updated to the current season, without major changes over the previous entry, but with more polish in the TV-style presentation.
As the saga's farewell on the console, it works as the most accomplished point of an already-settled formula: short, tense games, with the constant threat of any small school pulling off an upset against a ranking giant. A closing piece for anyone who collected EA Canada's complete trilogy on Xbox.
