Xenophobe had more than one version within the Atari catalog: BlueSky Software developed it for the 7800 in 1989, and Epyx did the same for the Lynx the following year, both published by Atari Corporation as a conversion of Bally Midway's 1987 arcade. In either form, the premise is the same: a team of exterminators must travel through ships, space stations, and buildings infested with alien creatures, shooting and collecting items while avoiding being ambushed in the corridors. In either version, it's a good example of how Atari used to adapt the same arcade license to several systems in its catalog simultaneously, adjusting the design to each platform's technical possibilities.
