Armor Ambush is the 1982 Atari 2600 adaptation, under Mattel's M Network label, of Armor Battle, which Mattel itself had released in 1979 for the Intellivision. Two tanks face off across terrain with varying degrees of difficulty to cross, in a multi-directional shooter designed above all for head-to-head duels between two players. During development it was called Tanks-A-Lot, until Mattel decided the name sounded too silly and changed it before release.
