Countermeasure came out in 1983, developed and published by Atari, Inc.: the player drives a vehicle through a labyrinthine underground complex, on a mission to locate and defuse a series of bombs before time runs out, all while dodging or destroying the enemy forces patrolling the tunnels. It combines maze tension with the shooting pace typical of the era's shooters. It's one of the many in-house catalog titles Atari produced to sustain the 5200 in its first year of life, before the North American video game market entered the crash that would ultimately sink the console.
