Espial, developed by Orca Corporation and published by Tigervision for the Atari 2600 in 1983, adapts the vertical-shooting arcade game notable for letting you aim in all eight directions of the joystick instead of just forward, adding an extra layer of control over the genre's standard formula. It's one of the lesser-known conversions in Tigervision's library for the console. That aiming freedom sets it apart from most of the era's alien-blasters on the Atari 2600, though its relatively minor circulation left it a niche title within the console's catalog.
