Along with Boxing, Checkers, and Dragster, it was part of Activision's founding launch lineup, the first outside company bold enough to make 2600 games without Atari's permission. It offers side-view fishing, one-on-one against the machine, where you have to calculate the rod's angle and the fish's depth, with the constant threat of a shark that can steal your catch before you get it into the boat.
It's remembered as part of that founding quartet that showed, barely after the company was born, that you could squeeze more design depth out of Atari's hardware than Atari itself had been showing.
