Gyruss (1983) places the player at the edge of a rotating space tunnel, firing toward the center while dodging waves of enemies emerging from the background, with an electronic version of the Moonlight Sonata as the soundtrack. It's one of the most elegant tunnel-perspective shooters of its generation, and that combination of hypnotic visual design and classical soundtrack still makes it memorable today.
