Hover Strike: Unconquered Lands arrived in 1995, developed and published by Atari Corporation itself for the Jaguar CD: it revisits the vertical-takeoff ship combat of the original Hover Strike, now with a more extensive campaign thanks to the disc's space, more detailed textures, and new assault missions over hostile territories. The player pilots their vehicle in first person, combining open-map exploration with direct combat against enemy troops and structures. It's part of the Jaguar CD's small catalog, one of the shortest-lived formats in Atari's entire history, and works as evidence of just how far the company stretched the vertical combat ship concept it repeated across several titles of the era.
