Plaque Attack, published by Activision, has the player defend a set of teeth from a constant rain of junk food —hamburgers, ice cream, pizzas— using a toothbrush as a weapon, in one of the most original and humorous premises in the console's entire catalog. It's a perfect example of Activision's ingenuity for wrapping classic shooter mechanics in visually memorable ideas. Its concept, as simple as it is effective, made it one of the most fondly remembered games in the Atari 2600's later catalog, proof that not even dental hygiene was safe from becoming a video game.
