Sky Alien, published in 1983 by Home Vision for Atari 2600, is a classically structured vertical shooter: waves of alien ships descend in formation while the player shoots them down from the bottom of the screen, within the formula directly inherited from Space Invaders and its many derivatives. It's part of the considerable volume of generic shooters the European publisher distributed during the early 80s, taking advantage of the lack of strong licenses in certain PAL territories. It's more a catalog piece than an innovation, but it documents well how saturated the genre was in the 2600's golden era.
